Summer Lovin'

I think i'm done saying i'm a bad blogger...Since there are only like two or three people that follow me : / anyways....this summer thus far has been amazing and here's why...
Just a few pictures of the summer time thus far.  4 Wheelin with the fam, which somehow resulted in T (the boyfriend) ending up in the hospital for an allergic reaction (eek).  However, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger ;) Crafting, which I have been terrible at because of such a darn busy schedule, and Texas!

My parents, brother, brother's girlfriend, T and I all went to Texas for the 4th of July.  Ended up being a pretty chill time.  T and I get in trouble for being in our 'own little world' all of the time but bah humbug people, it's love!  A little sunburn and a couple plane rides later we are home. Back to the grind.

There are some other big events to look forward to coming up though:

This weekend-- we're going to Winter Park/Grand County for a spur of the moment get away/fishing/hiking trip.  There are NO PLANS other than driving up there!  Kind of exciting.

July 23rd--Cheyenne Frontier Days/Jason Aldean concert (Thanks Sweetie)

July 30th--I pack up and move south!! Nope, not Texas, someone (T) came into my life at JUST the right time and scooped me up ;) Just south of Denver for now.  I don't think i'm thaaaaat excited....considering my collection of boxes, lOOOONG to do list, items that are already packed...What? It's not even a month away! A girl has to be prepared!

A couple weekends after that -- pool party at the Parker place ;)

End of August--VEGAS! My first trip.  I've already been building my tolerance with my form of 'vegas juice'

September, October, November and December will all be exciting too, just don't have all the details spelled out yet! But I can tell ya one thing....THIS GIRL is one happy girl!  Happier than I've been in a while!

Happy Father's Day!

It's been a while again hasn't it?  I know I'm a bad blogger : / I'm getting better though!

So today in celebration of the first man I ever loved (my Dad) the fam went 4 wheeling and had a blast!  Wanted to take a quick second (or blog) to shout out to this man.  Thanks for all the amazing advice at all the right times Dad.  I can only hope to show you how very much you mean to me!

Here's a few pictures of the muddy, rocky, messy fun : )

**Oh and a shout out to all you other won-der-ful Dads out there! and Daughters like me who oh-so cherish their Dads

All Nighter...

GOOD MORNING! (Kinda have to say that after 4 cups of coffee, that CAPS just make it even better) It's Memorial Day and I'm up at the crack of dawn.  Actually I haven't been to sleep since last night.  I'm officially pulling an all nighter (no FREAKING easy task let me tell you).  Why you ask? Long, adorable, romantic, sweet story short...I'm staying up so that I can spend time with the boyfriend (We'll just call him T ;) This man works graveyard shifts all weekend so that presents a little challenge in the two of us spending time together, but I am ALWAYS up for a challenge! So here I am, almost at the end of my all nighter (gotta make it to 7-7:30) and I decided to update this bad boy on some of the recent projects I've been working on.

So, I figured out where I'd hang the moss letters for the next two months before I move :) and here is the end result!

 Not bad right?
Then of course JoAnn had to have a sale on yellow fabric...my favorite color right now. SO, I made these (which have come in quite handy in accesorizing t-shirts).

.....Then I made this wreath (which I haven't decided if I like yet) from JDC (can't get enough of that blog, seriously, step away from the blog B!)

So I put it with this...and will 'probably' add an initial letter of some sort, who knows.

Next came this (which was another rainy night project, also found at JDC, SEE I told you. That woman is a genius)

Now for tonight's, rather, this morning's projects! I had enough material to make one curtain, and I'm loving it.  Just need the other one...and maybe a different fabric for the cornace board...You must ignore the ugly cable, I move my furniture in my bedroom by myself last weekend and haven't quite figured out how I'm going to get the cable to the TV without it being a tripping hazard yet.  After I made the curtain I came up with the genius idea to go through my dresser drawers and Good Will some stuff! Well, make a Momma pile, and a best friend pile, then a Good Will pile!

...and I COOKED! luckily that and cleaning the mess I left at my place so I'd have something to do tonight/this AM have gotten me through the night! (Oatmeal Raisin cookies)

Of course, these are T's fav. so I saved some dough to freeze.

So all nighter.....I WIN, but I will not be revisiting you any time soon.

Love, B

When it rains....

.....For what feels like two weeks straight, you do things like:

  • Make a new blog post twice in one day
  • Go home and veg in your pajamas
  • CRAFT away....(well at least I do lately for some reason unbeknownst  to me)
Here's the latest and greatest!

Note my new power tool to the right :) An electric pair a scissors! Thanks Dad ;)

Blury - yes.

again and for the second time on this rainy, gloomy, oh so boring day....

Rain!

Oh how I love the rain...It the cause for my many nights in and my creative side flourishing lately.  Plus who doesn't love a night in with a movie and PJ's?  The only drag is that the rain is killing my motivation for workouts! I finally got on the bike and went for 40 minutes the other night when I saw a tiny spot of sun in the sky.

The rain today however, has been followed by HAIL! Dreaded stuff that is.  Being born in Texas, I was taught at a very young age that when hail comes, you run.  Inside? Nope! You grab the biggest blanket around and you go for the cars! Because in Texas, when small hail comes....it takes t-minus 30 seconds for the big kahunas to arrive, no JOKE! Well being the responsable car owner that I now am, I carry a blanket in my trunk.  So upon the Hail arriving today in Denver, my reflexes hit and I ran to my car.  The wind about took me and my blanket, and after several tries, I gave up.  My co-workers did get a good laugh to my efforts did not go unnoticed!

On a lighter note....I get to spend this weekend watching this guy..... :D

Yup, the broha is leavin so I get to watch my boy Hank.  I helped raise him when I lived at my bro's house and he was the single hardest thing to leave behind.  We have a pretty awesome line up of playdates with Mayson (my dog at my parents house) and a walk in the park set up.

Tonight....more crafts are to come! So I'll post some pictures.  I got extremely inspired by the curtains and couch cushions below at http://www.theinspiredroom.net/....so tonight i'll make my attept!

Until then....

Love, B!

Crafts Crafts and Crafts

Always looking for new ways to update my place (all 700 sq. feet :) Today on my day of relaxation I decided to embark on a little craft challenge.

I had these two homemade pictures hanging on my wall in my living room...
BUT I thought they were a bit too much with the other pieces on the wall SO away they went...

and were replaced with these less intense patterns (not completed yet)...

...but that left me with a bunch of scratch pieces to do something with, because I never throw away scrap pieces :)

...and I came up with this!

Which resulted in these!

Love them or hate them?

That pretty much was what I got out of my Sunday this week, that and a little bible study session.  Nothing like the word to put you back in check right?  I only hope to be more 'in check' on a regular basis!

On another note.  This weekend was the one year anniversary of my college graduation, which got my mind rolling on some crafts from last year and what a day that was for me last year.  Here are some pictures for your viewing :)

as always...

Busy Bee

What a couple of weeks it has been! There's a lot to update on so I'll keep the introduction short and sweet ; )  This next weekend is the one year anniversary of my college graduation (did a year really go by that fast? I mean seriously!!)  So I decided to buckle down and do some stuff to celebrate my year off from school!

Not many people know this, but in April I joined a competition at work! You will probably be familiar with it....BIGGEST LOSER! What an inspiring show!  Not that I needed to lose 100 lbs but I did want to drop a few for summer and the $100 prize at the end was all I needed to sign right up.  Well...with three weeks left to go, at this point in the competition I AM THE BIGGEST LOSER! That's right, nothing like a competition right before summer to get my butt in shape!  It's totally rewarding to do something so good and healthy for yourself! Now just a 'few' more weeks to go.

Speaking of my 4th of July trip to Dallas to visit my favorite extended family....I did it.  I sent my resume to Dallas....EEK!  Kind of scary putting yourself out there to people you've never met!  So far it was a success! I have had 3 phone interviews and hope to hear back this week.  Still not positive on an upcoming move, but I had to try!  Like my Momma says, "You can always say know Honey!"  ...and that's right, so I can't wait to see what this week brings with the follow up's to those interviews!

On to the good stuff.  I have been inspired....MAJORLY inspired by designer blogs.  It has become my most recent addiction (with the exception of my sewing machine).  I am so at peace doing crafts and making things for my family and friends.  Most recently I learned how to hem a pair of pants (with the advice of 'you tubing' it from Momma D ;) and I made my mothers day presents.  Now the pants....that took a few tries.  I forgot to actually measure and pin them while my Dad had them on....OOOPS!  Luckily my Dad said another pair of 'house pants' were JUST what he needed!

The blog I am absolutely addicted to right now is Jones Design Company.  I found this blog at my friend Shalon's (former Mrs. Colorado 2010) blog at http://www.loveshalon.com/.  Both of these women are truly inspiring to follow.  Mothers, wives, sisters, decorators, creators.....like I said, I'm addicted!

                                                A daily verse (Phillipians 4: 4-9)

My favorite :)

Fun little bows/pins I found at JDC

That's all for now : ) Thanks for reading!

Bad Blogger!

There are so many things to catch up on and I have no idea where to begin.  SO, bear with me!  It is now nearing the one year anniversary of my college graduation, yep almost a year since I have last blogged.  There are so many new things to look forward too and Exciting events to happen that I figured I should start back up to have the proper documentation of what's going on in my life some day.  Some day I'll be able to come back and read about the most confusing journey of my life (as of yet).

Since I have graduated, I have had time to be bored! Yes, that is a good thing.  I remember that 'pit in your stomach, last minute late night study your booty off' feeling and NO, I do not miss it.  Grad school has sadly been put on hold for another year, but for good reason...I am having the most AMAZING journey finding myself and am just getting the hang of it...so why stop now?  My journey started with a brisk, quick (to say the least) move into my own place.  God definitely had a plan for me here as I have grown so much from living by myself, something I hope everyone can experience in their lifetime :) Now, living alone isn't all so glamorous, there's frozen pipes, and 'the heat is out and it's below zero' moments that make it completely real.  Not to mention not having someone to snuggle up to, but adopting a puppy just won't quite work for the 12+ hours a day I am not home (trust me I tried that too) so I have adjusted to it just being me! I have also learned that my creative side is way more than just a hobby....I hope some day to pursue my dream, just not ready for a drastic step that direction yet.  While being in my own place I have gotten pretty good (for my standards) at the following things: entertaining, painting, building, decorating, and MOVING FURNITURE.  Which has become a routine abouuuuuuuut every 2 months ;)

So sure I have had plenty of ME time to figure out what works on my own but there are still many things to figure out.  Liiiiike a career?  Yes I have a stable, well paying job that pays the bills.  There isn't a day I don't appreciate that, but down deep, there's more.  The creative side is itching and so is the pull, the pull to pack up, load up the truck, and move.  Where you ask? Texas of course.  Most everyone who reads this should know that!  I feel like a Texan, and the opportunities for me there with a brand new fresh start are endless!  With nothing really holding me back at this point, I think (that's important), yes, I think, I'm ready to jump off of the hypothetical cliff and start a new life in the big D(allas).  At this point, who knows, with the right way to get there (job opportunity) I may just do it!

Soon to come: documentation that, yes, I can build/paint/decorate/etc., and more on my journey in moving to Texas!
